 Why Casa Luna ?

Going nomad, migrating, travelling, that’s what we used to do in winter time when the cold was coming and there was little left to do in our old farm except burning lots of wood logs. In the nineties we spent a few days in Ubud in Bali. At that time, Ubud was some godforsaken place with plenty of dirt roads and almost no electricity,  worth a hop to the Monkey Forest and to the local Pasar  (bazaar). In front of the Kafe Lotus and next to Nomad’s there was a place called “Casa Luna”. Coming from Italy, we couldn't resist the temptation but what remained in our minds was the total strangeness of such a name in such a place. Yes, we confess, in Christianizing our lodge we had to set things right.  I suppose some others did do the same too or maybe it was the opposite, what about Gonomad.com ?  Although  Ubud is now a thriving little city with plenty of tourists it has managed to keep much of its identity even if nowadays there is too much traffic and the habit of burning plastic bags at all times all over the place remains a" must”.
